favorite flats: repetto

One of my favorite stores in Paris is Repetto. Their wheels of colorful ballet shoes always made me smile. They have supplied many a famous ballerinas with their footwear, but if you aren't a professional don't be dismayed, for they have a gorgeous pair of ballet flats for you as well. Which color would you choose?

Do you have a favorite pair of flats?

summer bikes

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Summer has definitely hit the city. It is hot and the parks were packed this past weekend. I love walking everywhere in the summer as the subways can get quite toasty, but I have also concluded that the perfect transportation for the summer is a bike. I already can see my self cruisin' down the westside ringing my bell and wearing big sunnies. Here are some of my top choices, and don't worry, a basket would also be a necessity.

Public C7, $595

Public C8, $895

a sailor for me, and a sailor for you

I was starting to feel a little homesick this week as tons of my friends are headed home for the long weekend, and you can't exactly have a big Memorial Day BBQ in NYC. Yet I immediately felt better when I woke up to a text this morning from my lovely friend Ali saying it was fleet week. Well then - we best bust out our red, white and blue and go a sailor huntin'!! I knew there was a reason to stay in the city this weekend ;)

Ali and I looking for sailors...

he's holding her head a little awkwardly...not sure how I feel about that,

daisy and gatsby: a love affair to remember

The tarnished love affair of young Daisy and the mysterious Mr. Gatsby was one romance I did not mind reading about in school. I remember vividly picturing the novel in my mind, with their two houses across the lake from each other, and Daisy just driving along that road...sigh. I cannot wait to see it alive on the big screen. Leo is the perfect Mr. Gatsby. See for yourself - trailer below:

The roaring 20's is one decade I would love to visit. What would I wear you ask? Check out some of my favorite 1920's pieces from 1stdibs:

Chanel Couture (need I say more?!)

Vintage Bill Blass, $950

beaded flapper dress

Jacomo silk clutch, $450

Buscha skull cap, $575

art deco dress

beaded sheath dress

vintage Hermes Paris

silk art deco gown

I WANT IT NOW - brocade gown

looks amazing on - chiffon dress

pink organdy dress, $675

Will you see the movie? If you could go back to one decade for a day, which one would it be?
