It's quite sunny here in NYC, actually there's a 40% chance of rain today, but that's irrelevant. One, I am doubting that it will even rain, and two, I still need sunglasses in the rain! I hate when the rain pelts my eyes, not comfortable. Currently I am having a mini-love affair with Karen Walker sunglasses like those below. I love me some tortoise...

David is my best friend Melissa's dad. Melissa sent me this gem of a picture after I couldn't make it to a wedding at home. She was keeping me updated on the evening events, like her dad taking a cat nap in their car before the reception. Melissa was seen in this post as rule #7.

Any big weekend plans?

Headed to the McQueen exhibit at the Met today and can't wait! The exhibit recently flew past the half a million visitors mark and is on it's way to being one of the museum's top 20 exhibits of all time. If only I could wear a true McQueen piece to McQueen...sigh.

L train skinny jeans

I love skinny jeans - so chic, n'est-ce pas? Yet, I love them as a girl. I am not a big fan of guys in skinny jeans. Yes, we are all proud that you have zero body fat and the legs of a 5 year old girl, but does mean you should parade around in them in public? Not so much.

This video shows a guy exiting an L train station. I was walking behind him and couldn't resist taking a little video. I mean seriously how he did he get those jeans on? They are like a second skin! One will always wonder...

weekend update

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I went and saw the movie Sarah's Key this weekend. Let me just say it is quite the tear jerker. When I left the theatre there was a solid buzz of sniffling. It was made after the book written by Tatiana de Rosnay. I strongly recommend both the book and the film. I am a fan of book first, movie second. I like to be able to create the locations, characters, and pivotal moments in my head first before someone else does it for me on film.

I am someone who can not be without a book. You never know when you will have a free moment to sit and read. In New York there are so many beautiful parks and on a sunny day I could spend hours laying on a bench and reading a good book. Truth be told I do most of my reading on the subway. Discussion on my love/hate relationship with my Kindle TBD.

At the moment I am reading The Paris Wife by Paula Mclain. It hasn't pulled me in as fast as Sarah's Key did, but so far so good. I'll let you know what I think once I'm finished.
